Showing the essence of all that is
The subjects shown below, mainly among the “Four Nobles”, were painted by Beppe Mokuza.
Bamboo: embodies eternal friendship and longevity. It represents flexibility rooted in strength. In addition, it calls for a highly flexible inner attitude, which makes man strong because, like bamboo, when faced with life's events, he doesn't oppose change but, on the contrary, follows and adapts to it. The orchid represents summer, femininity and elegance. "If you're feeling light-headed, paint the orchid, because the orchid's leaves seem to fly and free themselves in space, the buds open gracefully and serenely. This flower fully expresses happiness". Chüeh Yin. The plum tree: represents spring, as the flowers bloom when there's still snow. It's the symbol of Spiritual Awakening. It embodies vigor, longevity, resistance and independence, and is "like an orphan who rises up without anyone's help. Chrysanthemums: represent autumn and courage. It's the flower that "defies the frost". For the Eastern world, the chrysanthemum is the symbol of life and happiness.
