Ermitage Accueil in Versailles

Overview

Near the Palace of Versailles, at the edge of the Castle Park, the Hermitage shelters the International School of Sumi-e. The Hermitage is a set of buildings, offering meeting rooms, catering and accommodations, in a wooden park of 3 acres. In 1746 Louis XV had given a part of the Castle Park to Madame de Pompadour, to build a hunting lodge, that she called her “Hermitage”. This place is managed by Fondacio, which is an international association gathering christians in an ecumenical spirit. It specializes in sessions of self-awareness or spiritual healing.

Reception

The reception is open from 8:30 AM to 10:30 PM.

Classrooms

2-days weekends are held in room Yunus at the second level. 5-days workshops are held in room Mère Teresa for painting and in room Frère Robert for meditation, at the first level.

Catering

Meals, at the self-service restaurant, must be booked through the School. When registering, please confirm your participation to lunches and possibly dinners, particularly for those who arrive the day before and who pbook an accommodation at the Hermitage. Meals price is not included in the price of the School and must be paid to the School. For information, prices during year 2019-2020 are:

• Lunch (at 12:30 AM): 15 €
• Dinner (at 7:00 PM): 15 €

Accommodation

Accommodation must be booked directly at the Hermitage reception. There are 33 beds. It is possible to arrive the day before the first course day, depending on the accommodation availability. The accommodation price is not included in the price of the School. For information, during year 2019-2020, prices are the following, including breakfast, but not including the local fees of 1.18 € and 0.18 €:

• Single room: 34 €
• Multiple room (2, 4 or 6 persons): 26 €

To come to the Hermitage

By train

From railway station “Paris-Montparnasse”, “RER” (Regional Express Railway) line “N” : 1) Take direction “Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines” (check that the train stops at Versailles). 2) Stop at “Versailles-Chantiers”. 3) Take bus “2”, the bus station is located of the left of the train station, find platform "H", direction “La Celle-Saint-Cloud”, get off the bus at stop “Berthier”. Walk 5 mn: cross the “boulevard du Roi” at the traffic lights near the bus stop, go straight in the “Berthier” street until the “Gallieni” street. There, turn right, the “Gallieni” street continues by the “Ermitage” street. or 4) Take bus “T Express”, direction “Louveciennes Bull”, get off the bus at stop “Place de la Loi”. Walk 5 mn : walk down the “boulevard du Roi” until turning right in the “Exelmans” street, go straight in the “Exelmans” street until turning right in the “Ermitage” street. From railway station “Paris-Saint-Lazare”, “RER” line “L” : 1) Take direction “Versailles Rive Droite”. 2) Stop at “Versailles Rive Droite”. 3) Walk 15 mn: straight in the “Angivillier” street facing the station on the right, until crossing the “boulevard du Roi”. There turn right to reach the traffic lights. Cross the “boulevard du Roi” at the traffic lights, go straight in the “Berthier” street until the “Gallieni” street. There, turn right, the “Gallieni” street continues by the “Ermitage” street. or 4) Take bus “T Express”, direction “Louveciennes Bull”, get off the bus at stop “Place de la Loi”. From the center of Paris, any railway station along the river Seine, “RER” line “C”: 1) Take direction “Versailles Rive-Gauche”. 2) Stop at “Versailles Rive-Gauche”. 3) Take bus “2”, direction “La Celle Saint-Cloud”, bus stop “Berthier”.

By car

From Paris Southwest exit “Porte d’Auteuil”, take highway “A13”. Exit “Versailles Notre-Dame” or “Versailles” (second exit from Paris). From the South or the North of Versailles: highway “A86”. Exit “Versailles Centre”. Car park is free inside the Hermitage.
